Hit 75 today. Oh. My. God!

Going out on a public lake in my boat tomorrow for the first time in six years! Hoping to catch a few crappies for broodstock to eventually feed train their offspring.

How 'bout you?

Cecil I need to do that also. I haven't had my kayak out for the last two years. At 82, age will become a factor down the road and we need to do what is possible now. So you shamed me into getting into action. So next week, take my kayak, camera and hit a lake.

Public lake, on the first nice weekend of the year.

I don't want to hear about how many people were out there!!

The lake house is 2 miles away, and I try like heck to stay away from there on the weekends.

I will be on an electric motor only lake today Scott. That should cut down on traffic considerably. The GBH's will probably also be there. I've noticed more visits here when all the noisey idiots are on the lakes.

Nice here also. Finally warmed enough to swim in the Gulf.
Good luck with the Crappie.
I should be home in time to help ya transport the Tilapia from the schools. That is after I bush hog my lawn and driveway. Two yrs ago I waited till mid may and only had a riding mower. Had to cut swaths about 10-12"s wide then re cut the grass clumps. Might see if I can't convince a friend to cut it this week sometime.

Heading out in a about a half hour. Long drive to the lake -- five minutes! As close as this lake is I've never been to it. If the parking lot is small and full I'll just head to another small lake. I have about 40 lakes within 15 minutes including the largest lake in the state.

I fished a club tournament at public lake here yesterday, the crappie guys in the small cove at the upper end of the lake were catching crappie everywhere. This little cove was out of the wind and four degrees warmer than the main lake. My partner caught a 5-1/2 lb LMB in between crappie boats while we were there.

Spring is definitely here, I saw a large darner (dragonfly) buzzing the pond last night.
