I have recently acquired a .7 acre pond. I know it was used for potable water for the house i live in but it now uses city water.. there is a pvc pipe running into the pond on the opposite side from where the house is so i dont think anything drains from the house but there is a steep hill on that side so idk what it could be supplying to the pond.. i will post two pictures, one of the pipe and the other i just turned around and took one of the slope. Any feedback on what this pipe could be is appreciated.
I will be going down to my stream tomorrow to see if there are any pipes draining into it. At the bottom of that steep hill, just beyond the woodline is a a creek that wraps around part of my property. If it is a drain there is no on off switch so im guessing it would be overflow protection? Not sure. I might need to find a professional to come out and give me all the facts about my pond.
The pipe isn't big enough to be a drain from the pond.. I'm betting that it was used to handle some sort of overflow from elsewhere, most likely off the house roof.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Hello dave, the issue with that idea is that the house is a good distance from the pond and the pond is at a slightly higher elevation. I think it would be safe to say any runoff from the house would be drained into the creek because its much closer.
