Three year in a row the pond was covered in watermeal and duckweed. Not this year. Sorry, all I had was my cell phone.

garryc, use any Tilapia? Pretty place!

This is what I found on copper products and duckweed/watermeal.... Chelated Copper Copper compounds by themselves do not eliminate duckweeds and watermeal. However, combining chelated copper with diquat increases the effectiveness of diquat as a control measure. The copper slightly weakens the plant, allowing the diquat to be more lethal inside the plant. The general recommendation is to mix one part chelated copper to two parts of a diquat product. Common chelated copper algaecides include Cutrine Plus, AlgaePro, and Clearigate.

I have seen Tilapia help eradicate duckweed and watermeal when heavily stocked and a big rain event flushes the BOW thoroughly..

Cutrine Plus works great for FA...but is it also possible a member fisherman tired of the algae decided to take it upon himself to throw out some Karmex (Diuron) granules at sundown when nobody was around?

That it does. You know, we removed all the vegetation in that swamp area and all the nutrients that would have otherwise rotted into the water. Could it have had a greater effect than I though it would?
