Went swimming in my 3-year-old, half-acre pond a few weeks ago and discovered what I believe are several small leeches on my ankles. They're only 1/4" or so long and as thin as a pencil line, but still not pleasant. My guess is they are in the black muck under some pea gravel I put down on one end of the pond. Any fish I can get to attack them, or any other strategies to get rid of them?

What type of fish do you have now? I know yellow perch will eat them, but so will other fish. I don't know if YP will do well in Texas though.

LMB love them too! As small as they are I would think even RES or BG would eat them not sure though? But I know for a fact LMB like them!

The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!

I have LMB, HSB, and copper-nosed BG. I also put in about 10 pounds of tilapia at the end of Spring. Can't believe they're not running for cover. Perhaps because they're under the pea gravel, the fish don't see them.
