Quick question for you all. We stocked some additional fish in the pond on Friday and its time to get serious about feeding. Right now I have a full bag of Aquamax Grower and half a bag of the Purina Game Fish Chow. Do any of you ever mix these? I was thinking about mixing about 50/50. Here is what is in the water now.
35 HSB 200 - 3" BG 20 - RES (Last Fall Stocking) 75 - CC GSH FHM
Ideally I want to feed the HSB and BG the Grower and let the FHM and CC fight for the Game Fish Chow. Just wanted to know if this was a pipe dream or if anyone had and experience.

Not sure you can control who's going to eat what.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

Do you feed by hand or use an automatic feeder? Who comes to the feed first?
If you are feeding by hand and the HSB and BG feed first you can throw out the aquamax and then switch over to GFC when the others start to show up.

The BG that we put in were pretty small 2-3". Any idea how large they need to be to eat the Aquamax Grower?

If you want smaller more timid fish to eat, crush the pellets up or use some sinking pellets and disperse the feed along the shore line in shallow water. Not sure if this info will meet your needs, but it is a way to get other than the most agressive fish some feed. For tiny fish crush or grind pellets.

Sometimes the aggressive nature of HSB taking feed will scare off smaller fish.

What size grower? Rough rule of thumb, fish will eat pellets the size of their eyes. That goes out the window when you are talking about LMB and LMB pellets.....
