I have been needing an automatic sprayer for a while to control the weeds around my pond and land. I looked at the tow-able units at TSC and other places just not quite what I was looking for. I wanted something to pull behind my lawn mower that I could haul sacks of corn, fish feed, fire wood or whatever I needed to haul! I went with a small Harbor Freight trailer, painted it to match my Cub Cadet lawn mower put treated 5/4 decking boards as the floor and sides. My 25 gallon sprayer fits nicely in the front of trailer. My sprayer is a 25 gallon Scorpion w/ 2.3gpm pump. Trailer will have a removable section that sits behind sprayer to protect it when in use, this will also double as tailgate on rear of trailer when sprayer is not in trailer. I have attached a few pictures of my progress, I will post more pics when I finish it completely. Going to be mounting me a small tool box somewhere on it to hold straps, etc. Any recommendations on anything I need to add?

Cory, very nice. I did the same thing and added eye bolts to the deck of mine so I can swap my semi trash pump to it if needed.

I added 50' of hose to my wand. I got tired of having to move the garden tractor/sprayer every few feet.

I also have a boom on my sprayer that sprays 10'-12' wide so I can spray weed killer. I didn't like having to get on and off the garden tractor to turn the pump on and off, so I added a trailer wiring plug to the tractor, and just plug the sprayer in like you would plug a trailer wiring harness to your car/truck. I then added a lit rocker switch to my tractor, so I can turn the sprayer on and off from the seat, and know if it's on or off. I also added an in-line fuse to the wiring to the sprayer, and it's come in handy when the pump shorted out internally. If I didn't have the spray boom on the trailer, that wouldn't be necessary, but it sure beats using alligator clamps on the battery terminals to power the pump.

One more thing. You might want to offset the spray tank a bit. That way when you want to drain it, it won't run on the trailer frame.

Thanks for the ideas. I am planning on putting a switch on lawn mower & quick connect at hitch for easy hook up of power for pump. On the drain I'm thinking about installing valve and small piece of garden hose to extend it out past trailer.

Here are a few updated pics of the trailer. I still have to paint the wheels to match the Cub wheels. Ready for the weeds to start growing!!

Nice!

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

That rig can be useful in other ways too. We have used them on the back racks of four-wheelers mopping up fire lines in wildland fires. Hope you never have to use it for that, but that little bit of water goes a long way.

Nice build and great attention to detail!
