A couple of LMB I pulled out of the pond. One is 16" and weighed in at 3.5# the other is 18" at 4#. Been doing catch and release for a few years now because I wasn't seeing or catching any smaller LMB. This year I noticed quite a few LMB in the 5 to 6" range and have caught some in the 8 to 10" range. I figured I might need to start to pull some of the LMB out. I have let a few of my buddies fish the pond and they noticed that these bass are short and fat compared to what they are used to catching. I also looked at lenght to weight charts and these bass are really stocky for their length. Is the short and fat because these are Florida strain bass or is there something in my pond that might be contributing to this.

They are generally fat because they are eating a lot of food. Some consider this a possitive thing. Are the smaller ones fat too?
