I know lots make this claim but central Mo is where the Bible belt and Corn meet! I don't know why I've been drawn to the pond and have such a love of fishing. I read one time that 1 out of 3 people will choose catfish over steak. NOT ME! Just as weird as that may sound I never did like deer hunting but have a recipe for the best deer jerky you ever ate.
At the risk being called SPAM I am here to introduce a invention of mine. I am running a ad and from the response plan to run another month. Great bunch of folks I seem to be reading about here. Looking forward to sharing more ideas and maybe some day as Bob says breaking bread with a few of you'all.

FH, I am very interested in learning how to properly market my I.Q. improver. Maybe you can teach me some of the finer points of selling your idea. Mine is a very simple concept, send me five dollars and my crack team mails you a blank sheet of paper. It is guaranteed to make you more aware of your business savvy and will improve your I.Q. in no time. Take care.

MY BAD! Somehow I thought this was a good way to introduce an innovative new invention. According to an article in last months PB "Mission Impossible" how to catch fed catfish. Then running a banner add in the forum, not to mention offering members a deal that cuts out all my profit.

You have a good jerky recipe?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

It took me a while to figure out what it was. Then, a brain cell broke free from a work induced coma and said "it's a giant fish trap"! Keep in mind that this place has more DIY'rs than the DIY Network, and cages are quite commonplace among the brethren. A few mods to a cage and ya got a fish trap. Nice idea for those hook shy catfish tho. I like the concept! Hope you do well

That's what I was thinking when I posted Another thought that went thru the second brain cell that broke free, is that if this works out well, it could be a service type gig to those who want to reduce numbers of CC.

You have a good jerky recipe? Use eye of round and have the butcher slice it thin with the grain. Start with a jar of McCormick Montreal Steak seasoning and mix 50/50 with brown sugar. Put meat in large plastic bag add mix and shake well. Then add bottle of Lea and Perrins Original Worcestershire Sauce. Store in fridge laying flat and turning every couple hours or so. Do this for at least 12 hours and the longer you do this the better taste you get. Lay out meat on racks and dust with smoked paprika. I use a smoker but have a friend who uses the oven and then adds liquid smoke. For deer I grind whole deer. I know I'll get hacked on by not taking out tenderloins. cut all meat in strips instead of chunks. It makes grinding much easier and cuts down on heat from friction from grinding. I freeze it in 3 lb bags. When I get ready to make jerky I thaw out one bag and mix it 80/20 with whole hog meat that I do same way and make smoked rope sausage. I save some to freeze in one lb bags. Mix meat first then add same seasonings from above and use chauking gun type jerky maker to squirt out strips of jerky. I'll start another thread for the questions on the FISHarvester.
