Anybody know of any hatchery that will overnight deliver HSB? My last source seems to have fell through. I need 25 HSB and would like 25 yellow perch. I've looked all over web with no luck. I'm afraid of recruitment of HBG. I really dislike idea of LMB. I'm trying for a put and take pond. I currently have fingerling CC,HBG, and fatheat minnows in pond. Thanks.

Zetts in PA has both of those that they ship. About $150.00 for overnight...$75.00 for second day delivery. Their catalogue is on line also. They sent one to me as well. I was looking for the same thing to add to my pond. They are pretty small so you would probably have to how them out. I figured the combo of cc, yp and hsb would be good as they all can be fed pellets...I am to call back tonight a supplier of hsb in ks...not to far from me and I might take the tank and haul them myself...gonna see what sizes he has and prices

Jwwann,

Keo's fish farm here in Arkansas has HSB. That's where I got mine last year. They have all sizes. I got 6 to 8 inch and a few 8 to 10 inch. I am almost positive they have fingerlings also. I don't know if they ship but you could call and ask. I noticed your in Mid Missouri so this wouldn't be to far for you. They are pretty much located about 18 miles East of Little Rock. The number is below if you want to call them.

Thanks RC, i will try them if this falls through. I called zetts and they had both. The lady that takes orders was out for the day. He said call first thing in morning and they will get them out to me.

Jwwann:

If you ship, I would ship next day and not 2nd day. A client had crayfish shipped in 2nd day from New York to Indiana and 90% were DOA.

I second looking into Keo. If I'm not mistaken, they produce all if not a very high percentage of HSB that are sold in the USA.

HSB are very sensitive fish, I too second the fastest shipping method possible for them. If you get Zett's to ship them to you, let us know how it works out.

I also contacted Mike Freeze at keo and they do have hsb that they will ship, I did not ask about yellow perch...figured they are more of a northern fish ( but I think they might work here)...I was only looking for 25 hybrids and he said the shipping for that few would be prohibitive at $175.00...but he did not say they wouldn't do it...just wanted to put that out there

Maybe you have a neighbor or a few buddies that want some. But that's $7/fish. I guess it's all up to you.

FWIW...My FedEx Priority overnight shipping is $140 per container...If you are in my overnight ground shipping range, $40. I am making a run soon and could get both species to you.

I don't ship 2nd day, yet package for 4 days. The specialized shipping containers are not cheap, nor is the freight...water isn't light adn any reputable supplier is going to do things right to ensure live, HEALTHY fish under all weather conditions...not as easy to accomplish as one would think.

Rainman I live 5 min off I44 if you are heading this way that would be great. I'm 15 min south of Rolla. Would much rather buy from a pond boss trusted supplier. I'm leaving Thursday morning for a white bass fishing trip in OK at horseshoe bend off lake tenkiller. Ill be back next Thursday. Let me know something. Thanks.

PM Sent. I would get the HSB at Keo and I have an outstanding YP grower I use..tested and certified disease free, and a non-Great Lakes state. I couldn't ship/deliver them to you until returning from my run through AR, TN, KY, OH, PA, IN and IL....

I'll be driving past your place Friday....lol On my way to remove property from the landlocked property from hell I sold to an adjoining land owner.

Rex,
You sold that land-locked property you told me about at the Pond Boss Convention? Congrats, (I guess??) Sounds like the whole experience was painful from ownership to sale!
