My trout

Well, my "babies" are getting big! smile Caleb caught this one on our original brown pellet. It was 27 inches long but we didn't have scales to weigh it. It was HUGE!!!! We're getting some real nice growth on these guys. Good ole Aquamax 600!

Do they live through the summer?

In the Richmond area, they die out in April. What is your elevation? We have friends in W.Va. at 3500 feet and their trout die about 1 year out of 2. You have awesome fish.

Thank you! We really ARE lucky. We do have summers where many of them die (in the pond)... the cold running water from a well helps alot. They usually survive unless we have those summers where it gets super hot really quick....That hurts. This fish came from a stream where we feed the fish. I loose several due to flooding (about twice a year like clockwork) but some come back. I know for a fact I had four golden trout and two went missing - one is back now, I keep waiting on the second to come back frown They stock trout a little ways down from us (Moose Lodge). They get my BIG fish when it floods and I get their LITTLE fish that like my fish food and decide to stay! We're around 2700 ft.

Biggest bow I've heard of out of a pond is 18 lbs. my biggest was only 9 lbs. 9 oz.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Thank you! I hope he does, too. I do a "head count" every time I go out to feed them.

I had as much fun watching Caleb catch the fish as I would have had myself (maybe)... smile

I'm watching for your order from PA !
We make the 3 inch worms I mentioned before but now just this week, Steve decided to make 4 inch worms to appeal to the bass fishermen and the Redfish tournament fishermen (we're sponsors of the HT tournament, now). They'll be ready the first of next week. They are super nice! We're so excited about all the new lures!

Zep, I got to tell you I really like your illustration of the big fish eating the smaller fish. Tells a great truth. you got to forage to have big fish

Stacy any idea where the original eggs or source for that rainbow came from? Perhaps Trout Lodge as many hatcheries simply order triploid rainbow eggs now?

That has got to be the most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen!

Hello! I'll ask Steve about the fish. Some of them really are brilliantly colored. I'll find out tomorrow.
Have a nice evening,
Stacy

Well, thank you Eric! This was the first Crappie USA tournament I attended (to hand out sample packs and really wanted to catch my first crappie but fishing was terrible those two days) and had a wonderful time meeting everyone! Got to wear my jersey for the first time (really proud of it, took me several weeks to design it just so)....

The report: 4th place in semi-pro, 2nd, 4th and 5th place in amateur all used our Stubby Steve's to tip their jigs! smile

Last week the first place in semi-pro used our lure. And the week before that both first place in semi-pro and amateur used our lure. The tournament before that we placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in semi-pro division and 1st and 2nd in amateur division.
Shew.... smile One tournament the winning team won by 3 1/2 lbs which is almsot unheard of!
The fishermen have pretty much given up the Crappie Nibbles and one team who has used minnows in every tournament since 1995 no longer even buy them now... only use our pellets. We're so excited word is getting out and we're gaining a loyal following with some great fishermen!

It's exciting times.... with a great thanks to Pond Boss Members who have helped spread the word and have given us sound advice.... We truly appreciate everyone involved!

Nice large rainbow

We didn't weigh this fish but you can see how big it is compared to Steve's thigh. This was back last year and you wouldn't believe how much bigger they are now. They ate like crazy this evening! The great thing for us is they eat all year round because the water is never frozen... unlike most places around us.

A client came in the other day and asked if they could go fishing. Said they were at a local taxidermist shop and saw a huge RT mounted on the wall. The man told them he caught it at MY WORK, WHICH MEANS IT'S MY FISH and he was trespassing, poaching, and whatever other felonys I can yell at him!!!!!! It's horrible that people do that and then mount it and brag about it. My poor fish. The state stocks heavily all around us so there are many, many places to catch fish. I think it just drives people crazy that they know where there are some huge fish but they can't fish for them. Steve told me to calm down and that he probably wasn't telling the truth about were he caught it, that no one would tell other people the truth about that ... so, I have a new gun! smile
