hello everyone i bought a 18 acre track with 6 acre lake march of 2012. i have been reading this website for a while now lots of info

Welcome; what's in the 6 acres?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

well i hired a pond management company to help get my old lake up to par they came shocked the lake the big bass where skinny , many small bass , lots of large crappie , lots of large bream just the typical mismanaged lake the water test came back bad so 40 tons of lime 4000 shad 2000 bream and $10000 later i hope my lake is on the rebound next i would like to get a strain of tiger bass in but they said i had to remove alot of the small bass like 150 with all the great ideas on this site i am really looking forward to the warm weather

Welcome to posting. Did the shock boat take out any of the LMB ? That would have been a good start. Take out all the crappie and LMB you can. Get some help , scouts , church group , bass club.

Taking out mouths to feed will give you more bang for you buck than trying to stock more forage. Not saying that forage won't help, but no need to feed the fish that you are going to be removing.

I hope the "shad" were threadfin and not gizzard or the management company could have created a potenetial new, larger problem....

they said i had to remove alot of the small bass like 150 Am I reading this right? This pond management company told you to remove 150 little bass from a 6 acre pond?

150 lbs I bet . That would equal 25 lbs per acre which is a good general rule for LMB crowded ponds.
