What's yours?

Mine are more habitat, less chemicals, a grow out pond, catching a plate sized CNBG on my own flies, and finding a perfect $300 fish feeder. The last one may be the hardest to do.

I plan on planting the steep dam on my new pond and stocking forage fish (FHM, BHM, & GSH) for future SMB stocking. My big project will be installing miles of barbed wire fence around new property that I purchased adjacent to mine, and clearing paths and intalling culverts so that I can maintain them with my tractor. I woul also like to intall a fixed dock if the water level gets low enough (which I hope never happens).

1. To stay ahead of the FA!
2. Keep better (ok, start keeping) catch records.
3. Be thankful for all I have and am able to do.

Mark, having a cabin like that will be a game changer. You'll love it.

Main goal this year is to finish clearing my property and starting house/building construction.

On a sad note, I just read a text that Milton, a neighbor down the road, and who was to be an integral part of my construction plans, passed away shortly after midnight this morning frown

Sorry about that JKB, a "real" neighbor is hard to replace.

Milt was one of those "Real" neighbors and friend. I can't say that about anyone else in the area, except for direct family.

That is a picture of a really nice cabin - full interlocking corners are the way to go (not butt and pass).

MIne are more property related than pond related...I want to get some fruit and nut trees planted!

A small cabin would be nice but probably not in the cards this year.

Buffs & FIH...we were down there today marking off the building spots with the general contractor.

It was cold 'til we started working and then we warmed up quick!

It's exciting...muddy as hell today, but I suppose that's a good thing.

We built a cabin a few years ago using wood stud framing and log siding. Saved huge on this by not purchasing a log package. Here's a couple pics. It 24X24.

Nice Spinnerbait, light and airy. The outdoor landscaping is lovely. We, too, have considered a couple of cabins. Alas, not this year though.

Step my feeding game 100%.. Build 2 floating walkways with my texas hunters hanging off the end..

Catch a 2lb BG

Start finishing my basement (unfortunately it has too be done before I can build my 40x60 building with partial basement smile )

I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease..

I just wish to be happy with what I already have. Perhaps a solar-powered shallow well/pump to add more water to the pond.

Thanks. I thought I would mention the wood studs and siding for someone wanting a cabin, cause we saved alot going that route.

My 2012 projects? Would love to build a second pond, but it's still in
litigation with the "queen". Probably replant food plots, and redo some stands.

Beautiful!

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

I'm looking to set up a fish tank and stock it with fish from my pond for the home to observe them a little more.I also am going to look into a outdoor grow out setup for my striped bass project.

RAIN!!

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

My experiment for this year is to take out most of the lilies and see if the tadpoles and golden shiners can control control FA mostly on their own, and in the 100 degree weather we are likely to have.

Spinnerbait you have a really nice cabin and out buildings.

As I learned the hard way and put the cart before the horse, my project will be establishng an adeqaute forage base for the LMB and HSB.

I shut down the last diffuser last week for a full freeze-over (for ice fishing as I have a few 4 lb LMB that need removed/fried up) and if I end up with another fish-kill it wouldn't be all bad, costly maybe but not all bad so I'm not chasing my tail constantly adding forage.

Thanks to PB, after just 8 months this old and neglected 2 acre pond is now weed and FA free (at this point), aerated, looking great, and ready for a good stocking plan.

Thanks y'all and best wishes in 2013.

PB rocks!
