Hey, Diane here. Yes, I'm a little ignorant, but my CC have been hitting the fish food pretty hearty all summer and now seem to have disappeared. Is it because of cooler weather? Should I be doing something different or is this just normal?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Normal. Fish are cold blooded and they slow down with the temps.

Take a break on the feeding bill and retire until the Spring temps pop back up. I'm shut down up here in NE too...worst time of the year - fish not taking pellets, but there's no ice fishing yet!

Okay, thanks a bunch. Should I continue to feed them? I am hand-feeding them...will they eventually eat the food?

I would continue to feed as long as they will eat.
These cold fronts we are getting every few days with high pressure systems will sometimes shut them down - try feeding them again after a couple of days and observe activity.

Diane, you may also try feeding later in the day. I've stopped my morning/evening feeding and just gone to 1 feeding at 1:30 after the water warms up.

They seem to feed better then.

That's a great idea. I was trying to feed right before dark as that is what I did all summer.
