Camelot Bell Bass growth
Just wanted to share some pics of the growth of my bass. Caught my first one last week. Fingerlings to eight inches in three months. My nephews are a having a blast fishing the pond.

Does your water stay pretty murky or turbid? I have a pond that does and the LMB in it are very pale like the one if you have almost white.

I wouldn’t say turbid but there is some movement. The pond is 1.25 acres and I’m using the vertex air system with two diffusers. One at each end. I wondered myself why it had no color. I’ve seen this in other ponds in south Texas. An old rancher told me it was because there wasn’t enough structure in the pond. I don’t have a clue.

I've never seen lack of structure cause turbidity or even clear water.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

My new pond has only a few inches of visibility due to suspended clay. The HBG and CC I put in several months ago are very pale. I believe it is because of the turbidity.

Ken, years ago I did a lot of fishing in a muddy East Texas lake. If you caught a bass, you couldn't see it in the live well. They were all so white that you could barely see the lateral line.

I believe MarkG mis-took turbid as meaning turbulent...MarckG, Turbid is very "cloudy" or "murky" water...With all the bare ground and washing out of colors, I am guessing there is often turbidity, yet in the picture there appears to be at least a shallow depth algae bloom going.

That water looks good - no turbidity problem there. Anything that reduces visibility , including green plankton filled water, will cut down light penetration and cause color changes in fish. There is a lot here on coloration in fish. Do a search for that.

you CB LMB seem to have grown faster than mine. My fingerlings were just hitting 12 inches at seven months after stocking at 2.5 inches.
