Water temps are low to mid 50's here. Fish are in prespawn mode. Moving towards shallows but not quite there yet.

Being new to pond ownership (mine is just over a year old) What am I looking for? Here is what I know:
I have O2 of +3ppm down to 5-7 feet for sure, I have 20-25 inches of visibility, My Ph is 7.2, My total ALK is 34 at last check, I am catching +30 3-4 inch BG and CNBG in my traps along with several 7-9 inch BGs, I am catching BG, CNBG and HBGs on a line along with my CC with regularity, the water temp is 72 in the top foot or two, and 62 or more down to 5 feet last week.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Brian

Highflyer, you are looking for bottom disturbances similar to these pictures by ewest. The pictures are top notch and should clear up what you are looking for. http://forums.pondboss.com/ubbthreads.ph...true#Post271965

When I get back. I'll look for their spawning grounds. I know they are spawning because of all the little fish I find, but I am unsure where that is happening! One of my problems is that the pond is still filling and as it does, the old grounds are under more and more water( the pond is up 4 feet this winter so far), so finding those beds might be hard until we reach full pool.
Thanks for the help. I'll post what I find.
BTW, great pictures!
Brian

Water temp is 60 down to three feet. (Far as I can measure.) Been raining for days here, pond is almost ready to spill over into emergency spillway. Plankton bloom happened about a month ago. FA growing a little. Fish are active and catchable. Can't really tell what they are doing though. Been eating pellets. Bass are active. I think BG are building nests or guarding, as I have caught a few large BG over known nesting areas.
