Beautiful indeed. Men build cities, God created wilderness.
Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer.

Rick - Thanks for the compliment toward our state. Every state seems to have its own type of beauty. TX simply has a wider variety than most due to the expanse of geography that it covers. Wyman Meinzer is one incredibly talented photographer! I reviewed his website gallery after seeing it posted on fb, and was extremely impressed by his art. My favorite image is the howling coyote. What makes it more impressive is the storyline offered by the photographer for this one in a million photo. "On this bitter cold morning I was on a huge ranch in the rolling plains when this coyote walked upon a snowy hillside and began to howl just as the sun rose in the east. I could not believe the luck in being at this location at such a magic moment! It was an iffy shot by handholding a 500mm lens at 125th of a second but the gamble paid off. Canon F1N, AE motordrive, Canon 500mm F4.5L lens. Kodachrome 64 film"

My favorite Texas photographer is Russell Graves at Russellgraves.com. He's into hunting and fishing. He also documents the way of life in small towns and rural areas. Russell makes me regret leaving the farm and moving to the city.
Russell is an amazing guy. When he was teaching in Childress High School, he got the school to let him teach classes about the outdoors. I think he has made an impact on a lot of young people.
Check him out. Unlike Meizner, he doesn't try to sell Texas as a tourist spot.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done.
Boy, if I say "sic em", you'd better look for something to bite. Sam Shelley Rancher and Farmer Muleshoe Texas 1892-1985 RIP
