I'm in Ohio. I will definitely have ice. I do not plan to run my aerator during the winter. I actually shut it off about a week ago. I have the bubbler type aerator fed from a land based diaphragm pump with weighted hoses. Question?.....do I need to do anything to winterize since I will not be running it? Should I at least disconnect the hoses from the pump?

If you disconnect the hoses plug them so a mouse or small animal does not crawl in the hose and get stuck. I don't see a big advantage to disconnecting the hoses. If there is water in the hoses that freezes there should be enough expansion available with the air in the hoses to not cause problems. As long as the compressor stays dry until start up in spring the diaphragm compressor should be okay.
