We have a newly-built pond with a large drainage standpipe which is covered with a large ugly metal grate. It's round and cone-shaped on top. It does its job but it detracts from the beauty of the pond. I'd attach a photo if i could figure out how but I'm guessing you know what I'm talking about.
Any suggestions as to what I could replace or cover this with that would blend in with the scene?

It would be hard to blend it in with the scenery. Most grates I know of are large and metal. The owners aren't so much concerned about the looks but keeping fish in. Other ponds just have a pipe with no grate. These pond owners just accept that some fish will be lost through the pipe.

We normally install "trash racks" instead of grates. Our favorite is a black PVC one from Pond Dam Piping in Macon GA. Try this link http://www.ponddampiping.com/accessories1.html
