Yeah a virus of some sort. Parasite? The fish is under some sort of stress. Could be a change in your water?? PopEye as they call it can be caused by a lot of things. Some times it will run it's course and the fish will get better. If you catch others and they are fine i would just get rid of the few you catch that way and be done with them. In a decent size pond one thing I figured out is it's not really easy to treat the fish. Unless you have a seperate holding area you can put them in to treat. Then release later once they are better. Otherwise get rid of em. Of course that just my 2 cents.
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!

This most likely has nothing to do with it, but I've had that happen to some salt water species when I horse them in from deeper water relatively quickly.

We had a pond that Salt Water got dumped in to it from the oil company and this happend to the BG and GSF but I did not notice it too much with the LMB.
