Does anyone know approximately how much it would cost to drain a pond and basically re-dig it? We bought a house 2 years ago and the pond was not done right, there is now overflow drain and we don't even know how deep it is. Just wondering how much price wise we would be looking at for a complete pond renovation.

A lot. That's the short answer. How large is the pond now? How large do you want it? You mentioned you have no idea how deep it is, you need to check that first and figure out how deep you want it to be. It will be pretty tough for anyone to put a dollar amount to your project with the amount of unknowns, and those are only the basics. What kind of overflow you put in, whether or not you can drain the pond and get equipment in it as well as where you plan to put the material you dig out of it all play a large role in how much you will spend. I re-dug my own silted in pond out and saved a great deal of the cost, but I operate for a living and had room to stock the material I dug out of it here too, I didn't sleep much and I did sweat a lot too. You need to figure out what you have presently and then define what you want before you price shop.
