Hello,

I hope some of you might have some suggestions. My house backs up to about a two acre pond that feeds into a lower pond. We moved here 3 years ago and I have taken the lead on maintaining the pond. Last spring Rex dropped off some bluegill and tilapia.

Over the winter we noticed the pond drop about 12 inches, but it quickly filled back up to normal levels with some snow and rain. A few days ago we noticed it dropping again and upon further investigation the drain pipe connecting the two ponds has a geyser shooting from the bottom of the drain pipe a few feet in the pipe from the overflow. Not sure if its been leaking for a while and then finally burst open, but there is now a constant geyser draining the pond. Over the last couple days I want to say its dropped around 12".

Picture of the overflow.

Video of the geyser.

Anyone have any suggestions on a plan to stop the leak? Is there a company from the Kansas City area that might be able to help? Thanks for your time and any help you may provide.

I take it that it's a metal corregated pipe that failed?

Yep, its actually further from the overflow than I thought. I climbed down the overflow and the crack or hole in the pipe is about 10ft in from the overflow side.

There is a product on the market called Syntho-Glass. You might want to investigate to see if it would be appropriate for your application.

If the rest of the pipe is sound, then a repair might be in order. If the structural integrety of the rest of the pipe is questionable, then I'd seriously consider a major fix, meaning replacing the pipe.

But, how to go about fixing that pipe? I have no idea.
