hi all.
im a pond rookie. i just bought a property on some acreage with a 1/4 acre pond and im looking to install a system to move some water and aerate the pond to make it habitable for fish. is it possible to take a pump to circulate the water and simply add a "jet" or venturi system to it so it draws in air and pumps it in to the pond? just like a spa jet for example. anyone tried something like this. lemme know what your thoughts are. many thanks

Justin...yes, it possible, but air will move far more water for far less energy than any pump ever will. A quarter acre pond could use a 1/4 or maybe even a 1/8 hp air pump and a single disc diffuser on the bottom and be far more effective and efficient.

I agree with rainman. And, as important as energy usage, a diffuser will deliver oxygen where it is most needed...at the bottom of the pond.
