Hello, my name is Larry, have been PB subscriber for many years but as usual registered for forum only when had a problem, have ranch 90 miles west of Ft Worth, 6 pools but only one managed, 3/4 acre put in 9 yrs ago, stocked HBG and FHM, 3 months later LMB, feeder for bluegills when temps okay, added grass carp last year, pool 25 ft deep, largest bass so far 8.5 pounds last fall, have another small newer pool to raise HBG to seine and add 2-3X/yr, joined with question-found about 1 dz HBG 2-3" dead 10 days ago, found probable answer in archives to be period of warm weather after rapid swings in temp, same day caught 17" LMB 3.0#, appreciate being able to search for info on forum, don't catch many fish from this pool as they aren't very hungry but hope to get to 10# some day, meanwhile grandsons sure like HBG fishing.

Larry, that's about the time I saw floaters at my place near Bowie. However, when I tossed out feed, they ate OK. I put in a trap and had plenty of fish get in it.

I expect the brutal cold we had may have gotten them.

How in th4e dickens do you raise bass like that with only Fatheads and the HBG offspring?
