I am interested in purchasing a piece of property with the intentions of building a pond. The site of the pond is flat and would just collect runoff for fill. The size of the property is 200'x306' leaving me a maximum of 160'x266' or .97 acres. My question is what can I expect to do with a pond from 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre. What I would like to do is swim and fish alittle. But mostly just entertainment and just to look at. Thanks

The biggest question is will the soil hold water if a hole is dug? The possibilitis of things you can do with the pond is endless. It all depends on how intensively you want to manage it.

I guess what I'm asking is if a pond with the size of 1/2 to 3/4 of an acre given that it holds water, big enough to enjoy swimming and limited fishing? I guess it is bigger than a pool!

Most definately. Cecil raises fish in ponds that are 1/10 ac. Heck, I've seen people water skiing in an olympic sized swimming pool.

The fun around a pond is endless. Swimming Yes--Fishing Yes---campfires Yes--- slides, eating, bird watching---it will bring in wildlife---
