When our lawnmower broke and wouldnt run,my wife kept hinting that I needed to fix it and cut the grass. But somehow I always had something more important to do...fix the truck, drink beer take care of the pond, fish, drink beer.Always something else to take care of. Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. When I arrived home from work one day,I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.I watched siently for a few minutes and then went in the house.I was only gone a minute,or two at the most, when I returned...beer in hand and handed her a toothbrush.I said "when you finish mowing the lawn, you might as well sweep the driveway too".
The doctors say I will walk again, but Im always gonna have a limp and blurry vision from time to time.
I subscribe Some days you get the dog,and some days he gets you.Every dog has his day,and sometimes he has two!

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

My favorite story is about the wife that wanted to impress her husband before he got home from work. It was getting dark but she thought she still might have time have get the lawn done. Anyway she was so proud when he got home she proudly proclaimed, "I cut the grass honey!" He gave her a puzzled looked and replied, "How did you do that? I took the blades off for sharpening and haven't got them back yet."

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Nate, I know it's a small world but I didn't know Illinois was that close! BTW the story came out of the local paper many years ago. I'm sure it gets repeated many times in various ways.
