Hello All, I have an areator system coming next week from Ted and have a situation that I need help with. I read in the startup manuel online that the pump needs to run 15 mins first day, 30 next and time doubles each day for 8 days to get the pond to the right oxygen level,
My problem is that I only get out to my country property on weekends.
My solution, if possible is I have an ubderground sprinkler system I installed last year to water the lawn during the week when I am not there. I have an open space in the control box for another module, the switch that opens and closes the valve for each sprinkler run. I would like to somehow have that module control an on / off switch to the areator pump. The sprinkler system is low voltage, I think 12 volt. Is there a switch or control that I could have activated by the sprinkler timer to run the aerator?
This would make live easier since my pond is a 120 mile round trip from my home in the city.

I use a 240v Sylvania digital industrial timer. It only allows time to be set the same for all 7 days or for 5 days plus 2 days.
There are relays available that will take a low voltage input to operate 120/240v equipment. IIRC, they're not commonly used outside of industrial settings.
Finding one that you can program different times for on each day may be difficult.....Kind of defeats most reasons a timer is used to begin with.

Thanks, I don't want to driver 120 everyday just to run the pump. Hooking to the sprinkler control would allow me to set a different start and stop time for 7 days, on the eighth day I will be there.
Not to underestimate the knowledge base of Pond Boss but I may have to pose this to the DIY Electrical site I used to get info to run electric to my pond from the meter.
Thanks again, I'd really hate to have to buy a timer and still driver to my place to change intervals.

I'll say this is not considered safe....but, a $5 foglight relay available at any auto parts store can operate what you want. You'll need some common sense and a fair amount of working knowledge with electricity and electrical componants/schematics.

That looks like just what he needs, and it's not expensive either.

Thanks for the link FarmerRick. Esshup is right, just what I need and inexpensive. I looked on the Intermatic site for the same model they want $45.00!
Thanks again
