how long should i wait to stock my pond that i am diggin in a month?

If it looks like there will be enough water in the pond (at least 8', 12' is better) before it freezes, then I'd stock the forage fish as soon as there was 5' or so of water in the pond, but no later than late October. I'm thinking of a cut-off of 50°F water temp.
