I am dealing with a pond that has too many small LMB, lots of big BG, and some crappie. I have been removing all crappie and any LMB caught under 10 inches in an effort to grow the bass. I have stocked some fatheads which have had a very successful first spawn. I improved the nesting area for BG in an effort to get a better spawn out of them. I also have an abundance of small lizards around the property. I found one in the kitchen sink, how he got in is another problem to solve, but I threw him into the pond to see if the bass might like a snack. A bass came up and took it as soon as the lizard started swimming to shore. My question is: Does anyone know of a way to live trap lizards as a snack for my skinny LMB? I realize that this will not solve my problem but a lizard sure provides more food than a fathead minnow!

Marc,

It will take a lot of lizards, a whole lot of lizards, to have any measurable effect on the size of your bass...but I have to say its one of the more creative sources of food I've seen considered here.

My advice is to stick to your plan to remove all crappie and small bass and continue the fatheads. One fathead spawn will add more to your bass than several lizards...now how about a lizard fly, wonder if that would work...George could cook one up in no time. \:\)
