I think we've been cheating and bashing anyways... Albeit a little less during tax season.

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware there was a ban in place. Not that I would bash a fish. A CPA is different!! Good luck GSA.

I do sincerely appreciate the reprieve. At midnight tonight the bashing may recommence (of course I probably won't read any of it until tomorrow morning). Only a few more hours to go and my 30th tax season will be behind me.
It's been a crazy tax season, sadly filled with stories of foreclosure, lost jobs, huge reductions in sales and profits, health issues or a combination of all of them. I have quite literally had one client break down and cry in my office over the demise of her retirement fund.
During this trying time I do appreciate the grace period given to me by Rainman and Yolk, allowing me to concentrate on tax returns and not spend countless hours tracking their whereabouts and nefarious actions.
After a weekend of debauchery, on Monday April 19th, I intend to return to the helm of the Deathstar and to return to my hunt of hedonistic blasphemers with extreme prejudice.
Take warning all ye haters of GSF, all ye heretical blasphemers that spew your hatred toward our beloved Green Sunfish... in the immortal words of Led Zeppelin...."your time is gonna come."

JHAP, so you're saying that open season starts Midnight tonight and we don't have to worry about any repercussions until the 19th? That leaves a good amount of time to get the big guns in place and the shields up and operating at 100%! I just found out today that my e-file was rejected, so I'm headed off to the Post Office in a short bit.

I did not know that there was a moratorium on bashing GSF! Sorry Jeff, and the GSA. I still may have a post or two in me

At least temporarily, I am managing several ponds that are on some property a few miles away. I've been doing sampling for the last couple of weeks. Today, I was totally aghast! The nicest of the four ponds has these green things in them: This one was about 9-inches. When I lipped the critter, I was surprised at the teeth these things have! Worse than that, the green thing's seem to have brought their nieces and nephews with them: Lynda took one look at the batch I brought home for dinner and said " We're not going to eat those things, are we? They're all green!" Ohhh! I must have been a bad squirrel in a former life. I don't want to wear a GSF Forever shirt or logo! Hopefully, I'm wrong in my fish ID, and someone will come along and tell me that these are the highly desired yellow-fin sunfish, or something like that! Lastly, this pond does have some really fat LMB and some pretty nice things that appear to be pure strain bluegill.

EEEEEWWWWWWUUUUUU!!!! I heard that GSF are only palatable on St. Patrick's Day, any truth to that! Like swallowing them whole while drinking Green Beer!!! Destruction is inevitable!

GREEN SUNFISH AND MUDCAT MUST BE THE 'CHOSEN' FISH.
THEY SEEM TO JUST SHOW UP IN PONDS IN WHICH THEY ARE NOT STOCKED BY HUMANS. WE MUST REMEMBER, THEIR MOTHERS (ALSO ACCOUNTANTS AND GEOLOGISTS) LOVE THEM.

You're right Burger, Geologists and Accountants Mother's do love them! The Mom's realize the youngins are very easily distracted by brightly colored, sparkly objects. Akin to when a youngin reaches for a lit sparkler......

Ken,
The top one looks like a pure GSF to me and the bottom one looks like a hybrid. How'd they taste?

The top one looks like a pure GSF . . .
How'd they taste? That's what I was afraid of! I was catching them on a big Berkley Powerworm. They fought like crazy. Their fillets were thick and meaty, and they were delicious. But it is the shame of it all. It's like having to admit to someone the truth about your favorite uncle Hannibal, and how you really enjoyed his recipe for "liver and fava beans served with a fine Chianti."
