I have access to a pond that can be restocked. I checked on it periodically throughout last year. The pond is in a old cow pasture and the pond gets 75% weed covered in the summer so consequently there are a lot of frogs are they valuable as a food source for bass?

As a side note I believe the weeds are due to the amount of "natural fertilizer" (cow patties) that has been washed down into the pond maybe I am wrong in assuming this? I am strictly a novice about pond stocking. help me

Thanks

Yep, fish will eat frogs. The weeds are another situation. I expect the fertilizer helps with the nutrients needed to keep the weeds going. However, once the weeds get established, they grow, die and refertilize themselves. I expect the cows just make for healthier weeds.

Bass eat frogs. But, frogs leave. Temporary food source for bass. Bluegill are the backbone. As you scroll through and read this site, you will quickly learn the need to evaluate the fishery, identify plants, learn how each fish lives, spawns, eats, grows, and which plants are "good" and which are "bad" for your area.
