Today, I took advantage of the opportunity to drive a new 2010 Camaro SS2. I had to agree that the dealership was not responsible for any traffic tickets that I might receive during the test drive. They had the speed warning set at 55 mph From a standing start (with traction control on) you are pushed back hard in your leather bucket and triple digits on the mph meter show up in about 12 seconds. From a standing start (with traction control off) the rear tires light up instantaneously as you work the steering wheel to maintain control. Great fun for an old gear-head! On the twisty road, this Camaro is a great handler. My old entry and exit speed records were eclipsed by over 20 mph (without effort) from my 1969 AMX days. Would this make a good company car? Yes, for very quick service. I would want the 6-speed manual trans, though. I forgot to mention that this Camaro has a GREEN sticker on it. On a scale of 0-10 it is 4-6 in both emissions and fuel mileage.

Dwight, you're making me salivate!
I had a friend that worked for American General Insurance as the senior VP in the automotive underwriting dept. He had a framed traffic ticket on his wall received in HIS company car. It was for 156mph.
IIRC, it was a Mitsubishi 3000GT.

Dwight, just think how much fun that would be in the snow!
I wonder what it would do if you had one with posi, swapped out the rear tires for a set of ET Streets and threw on a progressive 100 shot of nitrous?

We got into a pursuit with a new Camaro a couple months ago... The guy had us in the straight away and was putting our Crown Vics to shame. Except he took the turn a hair bit too fast and well, that is one less new Camaro driving the streets. That car could move!!! If he did that in Virginia, he'd be sitting in jail for a month... And wouldn't be driving legally for a year! Fastest car I ever got one Radar or Lidar was 123. I did get a motorcycle doing 168...

Very comparable performance to my Ford SVT Terminator Cobra (that I sold in 2006). It had a double over head cammed factory super charged 4.6 motor. 6 speed tremic, brembo brakes. That car screamed. Zero to 60 in 4.6, quarter mile in 11.8. The car dyno'd at 401 horsepower at the rear wheels (about 470 at the crank). The great thing about modern technology is that if I kept my foot out of it I got as high as 26 MPG. Ya gotta love modern technology.

Rode in a Ford/De Tamoso Pantera once. That was real fast and pretty cool, but they were kind of a hunk of junk except for the drive train. Not much modern technology in that.
Good morning Dave, I've checked the ships systems, and everything appears to be running normally.

I agree the Pantera is not a real sophisticated car but they are fast and they do handle. During it's day it killed cars that were three times as expensive. I still think they are cool looking cars.

IMO, The Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo: 248 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. Twin Turbo All Aluminum V8 Engine with 750 hp, base price is $555,000. Smooth and bad-ass, will make you want to show it off non-stop. Sorry, but this looks much better than the Pantera and has the modern technology too. Turns on a dime, leaves a nickle change, corners like on rails and makes your heart skip when the gas is hammered down!

I did say "in it's day." If we're playing with high tech supercars I'd rather have the Koenigsegg CCXR and watch the S7 in my rear view mirror. Running on E85 Biofuel: 1,018 bhp 0-62 (100km/h) 2.9sec Top speed 259 With this bad boy I could make the 500 mile trip to my pond property in less than two hours. Well, unless I hit LA traffic.

Bugatti veyron hands down gents. Fastest street legal car on earth. 16 cylinders, 10 radiators, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. Guy in texas actually drove one into a pond down there. 2 mil down the tubes. How's that for structure?

Ok, point taken. If I had the Money that AIG got then I would be seen in the SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 secs. Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness world records, The SSC Ultimate Aero takes the lead as the fastest car in the world beating Bugatti Veyron. I think I will have to sell a lot of Aeration to even buy the insurance on this baby, but I would be beating you to your pond, install that 1/2hp Evolution Fountain, dig a fire pit with that wonderful fire ring posted earlier, cook his chicken (sorry, even if that is fowl) and serve it to you when you finally put put in on your SLOW CCXR!!!

All that money and it doesn't even have chrome bumpers.

Chrome bumpers allow the laser to bounce back that the cop is shooting at you to see that you are actually doing 257 mph in a 55 because those tilapia that you are transporting accross state lines to a state that does not allow them are droping out since the transport tank is too small. Your original one is too big to fit in the passenger seat.

And then again if we all had hundreds of thousands or millions to throw at a car I guess this would be lakeboss.com eh?
