Hello, been reviewing posts for some time, but this is my first post/question. Really appreciate all of the helpful information on this site. Some applicable background, I manage a coupe of lakes on some family property located near Sawyer, OK. One is 40+ yrs old and the other is 2002 vintage. The former was constructed by two old men having fun with a big Cat (nice big dam and spillway, but no time or effort directed towards pond management). The other was well thought out and professionally designed with end use focused on big bass). Unfortunately, I have only been around for the last 6 years (wife's Dad's ranch) so I don't have much detail or construction of each lake. Now to the point... I have seen the following plants/eggs/algae in both lakes and cannot figure out what it is. Hoping to avoid a flaming, I have searched here and on google and still can't figure it out. Thanks in advance!! What is this?!?

Forgot to add, the stuff has a jellyfish type texture and I have seen balls of it floating alone in the middle of the lake... first found it in July of this year.

If the balls are large (softball to basketball size), they are bryozoans. Bryozoans are not a plant - they are actually a colony of small animals, much like coral in the ocean. They are usually attached to something, but can break free and float around the pond. Bryozoans do not have any negative impacts on a pond, and are usually a sign of good water quality. If the are small and slimy with a green or blue tint, then they are an algae and may become a problem.
