This is what I've sound works for me. I also have a sickle mower that sets in the shed. I use a 25 gallon sprayer on the back of Polaris Ranger filled with roundup. I spray the waters edge and bush hog what is safe.

I also use the DR Field and Brush mower around my pond like CJ does. I have had mine for 4 years and haven't had one problem with it. With forward and reverse gears its easy to use around the pond. And its great for cutting small trees and underbrush in the woods. I would highly recommend.
