It went great. 3 years later, I have cattails again. But I had two knee replacements so I took it easy. I have cattails but I am ok with it. If you cant fight them, just say the heck with it and jump in anyway!! Thanks for all the help and great posts!!

What a sight!
Several of our Lake MowerTM customers have used their cutters for a summer or two on cattail and then sold them back to us because they were able to kill the cattail by drowning them: you cut them as deep as you can to give yourself a while before they grow back, then cut them again before they break the surface. By doing that between now and the end of the growing season, you will very likely dramatically reduce the regrowth next year.
