http://www.bossbuck.com/products/feeders/controlsystems.htmlThey have regular fish feeders similar to Texas hunter systems. However on the link above if you scroll down that have a directional feeder for $95. Its basically a deer feeder with a guard. I just wonder what the spinner plate looks like. Anyone have any experience with their products? Im trying to come up with some feeders for catfish and CNBG for the spring, I have barrels just need a good feeder to mount under them. Im a little scared of the Remington feeder, i've read it tends to give trouble. A feeder like this BossBuck might not have the issues that a paddle feeder might have.

I used to sell a similiar guard style fish feeder called game country. SHort answer is for $95 not a bad price but do not expect much distance nor I do not see it lasting with fish food and clogging potential. The distance from shore really hurts as well. Mount the feeder so wind is at its back most of the time to help push food away from shore. I honestly think the remington for the money would be a better option.

there are so many mixed opinions of the remington im pretty hesitant to buy it. But if thats "it" I guess i'll have to give it a try.
Is there any better unit out there that mounts on the bottom of a barrel?

chadwickz71, FWIW, my remington feeder has been working fine since my new timer came (about 2 months or so).

I modified an all-seasons game feeder. Looks basically identical to the boss buck feeder your refering to (I looked at them also, before I bought the all-season)I made my own spinner and fab'd a guard. Works fine, no it's not one of the high dollar directional units but I figured I'd give it a try. Besides I purchased it for a deer feeder anyway. The larger 12v motor doesn't stall too easy. It is mounted off the side of my dock, so it's overwater. It will throw about 20'

I put a Remington timer on my deer/corn feeder that lasted about a year, then it stoped working. It was OK and worked well for that year, but I wouldn't buy another one. I think a timer should have lasted allot longer, but then again, I'm on my fourth timer for that feeder and the verdict is still out on this one. Too new to say one way or another.
I did add a 12 volt solar cell and the bigger 12 volt batter to my feeder when I bought the new timer. I'm really happy with it so far and looking forward to seeing how long it lasts.
