The hybrid bluegill are OK but provide no forage for the cats. Your cats and BG are living on the pellets but nothing else.
I assume that you stocked 3-4 inch cats. If so, then I would stock about 10 pounds of fatheads and about 750 bluegill.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

750 BG assuming he sticks with hybrids, DD? I would agree.

Yep Theo and I don't have much use for hybrids. He is going to have to handle everything on a put and take basis. Without bass, I don't think you can stock BG or CNBG without probable biomass problems.
With CC and HBG and a good feeder, you can have a pretty neat fishing hole and lots of fish dinners. The problem is that he will not be able to catch all of the cats. They will become hook shy. So, he will have to restock with 10 to 12 inchers.
