Will LMB spawn their second year? Last September put them in..they were almost 1.5"/2"....have been catching them this year, they are around 8"/9" Will they spawn at this size...or will it be next year?

We stocked a lake with yoy tiger bass. The following spring we surveyed it using a shocking boat. That resulted in bass fry.

From wwhat i have read on this site i would say yes. The only thing is that the hatch wouldnt be all that big or not as many. Give them some catfish food or pllets and they will grow fast. I did that to my pond and they are growing fast. Good luck!

You should be a month or more past LMB spawning time for this year in Indiana. If you have not seen any bass fry so far, I doubt you get any this year. But if your LMB are 8"-9" now and the forage base enables them to continue growing well, a bass spawn next looks likely to me.

It's hard to tell the fry apart...I need to get one of those minnow cages.
