Get my tilapia this weekend. Will get about 75 or 100 2 inch fish. Will a large cooler with a bait aerator get my fish 60 miles to my home? I have asked this question before and get different answers. Just want to be sure I get them home alive. I have 5 pounds minnows in the cooler before and did not have any problems. Thanks Ricky

Are you sure that your water is warm enough to support the tilapia?

Keith, Iam going to keep them in a 300 gallon heated tank in my basement until the water warms up in my pond.

Pure Oxygen is better than just air.

We need some others to chime in but here are two points:

1) Put some water in some plastic bottles and freeze them. Throw one in the water holding the fish, and it will keep them cool (ice would melt and mix the ice water with the fish water). Don't over cool the fish though; you should have some kind of water thermometer so you can gauge water temps in your transport tank and your pond. You will want to equalize with in 2 degrees or so.

2) Salt is good to help the fish. Someone needs to chime in with what kind of salt and how much.

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:"
"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."
