I have hybrid bluegill that are around 8 years old.These fish are from 2# to 2.3#.I have seen a few died as spring is coming on.What would be a typical lifespan of these fish....Thank you,Joe

Wow! Two pounders are super nice fish.

If you get a chance post some pictures. I would love to see them.

I'll let the experts say for sure the life span but I was thinking I had read about 6 years. If that is the case yours are getting towards the end of their career.

The maximum lifespan of a HBG is estimated at about 8 years.

Lifespan depends on location averages vary - up north longer maybe 10 yrs max - south less maybe 5 years max.
