I didn't know much about catfish so i stocked my .5 acre pond with catfish. There is about 200 mud cats, 5 large mouth bass and 50 blue cats (that i put in last year), and 100 or so copponose blue gill. The mud catfish were stocked by a friend and he thought they were blues. My problem is how do i get rid of the mud catfish. thanks for any help or suggestions.

Stock somemore bass. Bullheads(mudcats) smiw slow and are easy for the bass to catch. I would stock 20-30 bass big enough to not get eaten by the fish that are in the pond right now.

thanks, there are somewhere aroung 200 to 250 mud cats in there anywhere from 6 to 14 inches in length. you think that a bass will eat a 12-14 inch catfish?

They won't eat the big ones, but they sure will eat any of the babies they have. You can catch out the bigger ones by hook and line or using a trap.

It depends on how much you want to spend... Here are a couple options though.
