New member with no pond currently. I grew up fishing farm ponds in Kansas and am currently looking for acreage to build on. If it doesn't currently have a pond the plan is to build one, and after snooping through hundreds of posts on here that seems to be the way to go. Looks like I have plenty of reading and studying up on the subject but that's half the fun isn't it. Great site

Welcome to PB Gavin. Where are you in Texas? It matters quite a bit on ponds.

Welcome Gavin from Deep East Texas. You will love the people here. Our 2 acre pond is not even a year old yet and we are catching 8 inch fish because of all the help we got here.Subscribe to the magazine. You will love it!! What area of Texas are you looking to buy?

Thank you all (yall) for the warm welcome. I currently live in Guadalupe County just north of San Antonio. My youngest will graduate high school next year, so we are looking to purchase next summer so we can begin any improvements before building a home the following summer. We are currently looking to relocate to somewhere in NE Texas. I am able to work from home and the wife is a hospital director so as long as their is a hospital within a reasonable distance we aren't really that tethered to any one location. I enjoy having a pretty good idea of what I am getting into so the mission right now is to learn as much as I can before jumping into the deep end. And I will definitely check out the subscription. Thanks again

Gavins06, welcome aboard. My wife and I are heading your way later this month. The Hill Country is absolutely one of our favorite places, and I need to satisfy my Round Rock Donut fix.

Tyler probably has the biggest Hospital in NE TX, but there are lots of possible options between Dallas and Texarkana.

Thank you for the links Zep. I am familiar with a few of them, but the others just insured my productivity dropped off for the rest of the day.

Wow, already laughing at me and I haven't even posted a picture of myself yet. Lol one thing I have learned in life is if you can't have fun then what in the heck is it for. And I will take that as a compliment Mr Davidson
