I stocked 2350 CBG and RES (90/10) in Feb of this year, along with 2500 FHM in a new 2.35 acre pond. Last night I was on the dock when the feeder went off, and noticed 18-20 inch carp destroying the feed. Could anyone tell me if they see any carp in the net of fish that I stocked. If so, what is my approach towards the fishery that supplied them. I am not sure I want them in my pond.

I don't see any and they wouldn't have gotten that large in a short amount of time.

Thank You, I thought maybe the goldfish looking fella at the top right may be one, the pond is brand new, Filled up in Jan of this year. I am super confused.

I don't see any carp, they all look like panfish (EDIT: not sure what the goldfish colored one is, now that you pointed it out). Can you cut the part of the photo out instead of resizing for the post?

But, a FHM and grass carp fry look a lot alike. I think that's how my BOW contracted carp disease. I hand stocked my pond one by one when it came to the gamefish and the minnows where introduced by the hand full. 3" carp fry can easily be mistaken for a FHM.

Good luck convincing the fishery that you are owed something more than a token bag of FHM's (with more carp fry).

EDIT - 18-20" would have been some fast growth in just this one season.

If your pond's vegetation status does not warrant their presence...catch them with rod and reel during feeding time using fish food balls as bait. If I still have carp (i have only caught/seen the one)...they don't show up with the dinner bell, so you are lucky in that respect. Get a few helpers with rods so that you can surprise attack them and get as many as possible the first try. I hear they can wise up pretty fast and be harder to catch if you take a slower approach.
