Hi! I am new here. I plan to build a pond that is spring fed. I am in the mountains of Virginia. I am thinking about trying brook trout and SM Bass. Has anyone ever tried this? Any thoughts or ideas if its worth a try. Thanks.

That is a new type of pond fishery for members here on the forum.
In Canada I have fished in a pretty large lake (72ft deep) that had trout(rainbow & brook) and smallmouth in the fishery. Walleye were the main sportfish. Northern pike a burbot were present. Once the lake stratified the trout segregated themselves below the thermocline in cooler water from the other fish. Main abundant forage was bluntnose minnows and yellow perch. Lesser species were common shiner, golden shiner, spottail shiner, redbelly dace, darters, log perch, sticklebacks, suckers, rock bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, bullhead.
