I have always thought that stocking FHM/Golden shiners prior to bass was great.

I also thought that adding CNBG and have them grow and reproduce prior to preditor fish was important too.

I found this from a paper off of Overtons website, and I dont know if this is good info??

"Do not stock adult bluegills before stocking bass, as they will overpopulate, stunt and decrease forage reproduction..."

any idea about this??

I guess it depends on the #s, and how long you wait to introduce the LMB. I know Bob put about 10% grown CNBG in mine when he stocked it in late February and the LMB in late June.

In southern LMB/BG ponds that is possible but not likely. My preferred method is to stock mostly small BG but add 10-15 % as advanced size 5-6 inch BG also. This really jump starts things. Then a few mths later add LMB fingerlings. I would rather use fewer 6 in LMB rather than 2 inch LMB.

Dustin, that is not my experience. I agree with Eric.
