I am planning on stocking some redear this fall but am worried that they won't survive the winter. I get over a foot of ice at times in winter and am worried about them living.
Can you find a more northern supplier whose RES might be better adapted to the cold? I had a over a foot of ice last winter and never saw any morts in my pond at ice out this year.
Any recommendations for a supplier
No clue in your area, the RES I stocked came out of Kansas and seem to be doing fine with our winters here.
Contact Dave Beasley here and tell him Pond Boss sent you.

I read that if temps change quickly they may not even spawn. Any thoughts.
