I am looking into getting an order of Golden Redbrest Sunfish put together from Owen & Williams in Hawksville , GA.

Is any one near N FL or S GA interested in going in on an order.

I do not need many and will have more than I need in a minimum order and prob can get better price with a larger order and save on shipping cost per fish if any one is interesed.

I am ordering some this fall as well. Looking forward to seeing how they perform.

I am just a little concerned as I dont have many minnows yet breeding. I started with just a few and was gonaa wait for them to just breed. I am stll wondering if I should wait till next year. I just refilled the little pond end of july.

You might beat me to getting them. Let me know how they look when you get them.

I only have about a dozen Rosey Red FHM . I see them just now starting to fatten up and look like they want to spawn.

How long have you had yours? Did you inteigrade them into your main pond with other fish or do you have in seperate pond?

How long have you had them?
Any Pictures?

No pics I stocked this spring and they are growing. I see them at the feeder and they are fun to watch. I put them in a 5 acre pond with normal redbreast and fathead minnows. The pond will also have SMB RDS albino CC YP and WE. The seller says the fry they have will be normal color if crossed with normal redbreast. The gene is supposed to be ressesive. Redbreast are beautiful fish in general but DO NOT STOCK ALONE WITH LMB. The LMB eat them quicker than they can spawn. They spawn less than BG.

I know of several ponds that have sustaining RBS populations, even with heavy LMB predation. These are normal colored RBS though. Like anything in ponds, it all depends. RBS prefer to spawn on a sandy substrate. That is where they will do best. They can spawn on clay or detritus, but their success rate seems to suffer.

I may need a truckload of sand than.

Whats the pricing/qty to ship?
Posted By: RER Re: Golden RedBreast Order - 11/18/14 02:07 AM
It will cost about 0.75 each with shipping all factored in. 2-3 inch fish.
Minimum order will be about 250 fish , way more than I need.

I need some, but not until Spring. Can you wait that long? We're frozen up here already, which is crazy early [4 weeks].
