I've been searching and have found some ideas. What would you guys do with with pvc pipe ranging from 8-14" dia? I plan on using it in 5' of water. I've got enough to make a Condello Condo or I could do something else. The pond is lined with rip rap all around the bank. Imo there is plenty of structure, but I've got this pipe so I might as well do something with it. What would you guys do?

What type of structure do you have ? Why at 5 ft ? How much pvc? I can imagine a bunch of things depending on need.

The pond is not much deeper than 5ft. There are some stumps and Christmas trees, and the rip rap and concrete along the entire bank. The rip rap is at a 2 to 1 slope around the pond. The levee is 6' to 10' tall. I'd like to do something for BG and LMB depending on what ideas are out there. I've got around 75' of pvc all together of varying diameters.

Helpful as always, thanks Ewest. I've got an idea, I'll post some pics when I'm done.

I put one of the Bill Dance Porcupine Fish Habitats in my pond on Monday of this week. It is in about 6 feet of water about 20 feet from the dock. Last night I fished for bluegill around it. I was using meal worms. I caught 15 or 20 bluegill in less than 15 minutes. I don't believe I ever made a cast that I didn't either catch a fish or have my bait stripped. I can't wait for my grandchildren to show up this weekend and try it out.

I met the developer of the Porcupine at the Pond Boss conference in Dallas. He tells an interesting story of the help Bill Dance has given him in making this product a commercial success. I have been an admirer of Mr. Dance for many years. Tha story of his helping get this product into the marketplace make me even more of a fan.

I was fortunate enough to meet Bill Dance during the installation of our aeration systems into his personal pond and lake in Collierville, TN. He couldn't be a nicer man! The pond in this picture is another pond in his town that he is over-seeing the expansion and addition of structure and aeration. I personally put together about 10 of the porcupine fish attractors - I think they installed about 40 of them. He is big on structure (and aeration)

I have a friend that fishes with Bill. Evidently Bill gives stuff away that his sponsors give him, like fish finders and trolling motors.

What do you guys think?

Looks good. You may have to add some more weight to sink those pallet structures.

I really like it, Cheyenne!
I kept looking at that first pic...I know I've seen it somewhere before. Then it hit me!

Blue Man structure!
Posted By: cheyenne19 Re: pvc pipe - 06/27/07 01:45 AM
Just for an update on how well some are working. I placed two of the "blue man structures" under two night lights that overhang the pond. Within days BG started to show up at night and feed off of the bugs. Now there are more than 25BG feeding there every night. 25 is as high as I can count before they move. One night with the aid of my flashlight I observed close to 100 adult BG. The condo's are working well also. A friend brought his little girl over this afternoon, and she caught 10 BG from the condo in about 30 minutes. Thanks for the help and ideas guys, you're changing my pond already.

I carry a pair of gloves with me when I count, just in case I need some extra fingers. ;\)
