Congratulations!! Great looking spot!
Congrats is right! My blood pressure has dropped 20 points since I have had my puddle to enjoy!....Except for the dang GBH!
Hopefully we will get footings dug and poured next week and then let the fun begin. Wife also wants me to finish the dock so we can get family pics out there.
Congratulations! Keep us posted.
Yeah wow looks awesome!! Very nice! Keep the pics coming!
RC
John Denver sang, "Almost heaven, West Virginia", but he was kinda sissy. Now Skynard rocks and sings something more appropriate for you. "Sweet home Alabama". Hell even Forest dances to it.
Ya have a picture perfect site! You're wife is cool cause she wants the dock done. I believe you will be the envy of many.
Pond looks great. We really enjoy having our pond near the house and within view. I'm sure you will too.
Keep us posted of the progress.
LITTLE PEACE OF HEAVEN. I know exactly how you feel. Only you got the pond before the house. Your life will be fun.
Not a whole lot to update. We had about 4 inches of rain over the weekend which pushed everything back. They will begin digging footers and pouring tomorrow. Hopefully start laying block by Thursday or Friday. Thanks for all the kind comments.
Footers were dug and poured. Temporary pole put up. Hopefully start laying some block tomorrow.
Looks like a great place to raise a family. Your family will cherish the memories. I only wish my kids had our pond when they were growing up. The did have a creek with fish in it, and a cabin 5 hours away, so they were not couch taters.
Yes my girls who are 8 and 5 love it. They were all about swimming in the pond until I pulled out some huge snapping turtles. They are excited to go fishing in it though.
Started laying block today.
I thought you poured a slab and built cinder block walls on top. Are you going to use the cinder block perimeter for forms to pour a floor?
Perhaps Sunil drew up the plans.
10 yrs ago I built my lake house and I had never built a home before. It took a lot of time and money but I loved it. Good to see your plans and dreams are coming together.
Tracy
Dg84s that is the crawl space. TGW1 this our first home build as well.
More block.
Congrats, keep us posted!
Doug
you should build the fish one too
Brick work started and floor joist. Should start decking and framing tomorrow.
Nice that you are documenting your dream project and thanks for sharing. Your framers aren't texting or takin a smoke break every 15 mins like the kids I hire. I wish I had pics form the time I got my property and now 10 yrs later. You'll be amazed at how fast a decade whizzes by.
Bob, more and more businesses are not allowing cell phones at work. There's a reason for that. My nephew works for the railroad, and their policy is that if you don't leave your cell phone in your vehicle then you're fired.
Walls going up. Thanks for the kind comments. I thought it would be neat to document this build.
Looks really nice......good job!!!
You might want to expedite your grass planting and water, water, water. Don't want that nice graded soil going into that beautiful pond in a down poor.
It will be graded once more before landscape begins. With all the trucks coming in it just going to tear it up.
How many sq. ft. will the house be?
2152 Sq ft. Main floor. Not counting unfinished bedroom and bathroom up top.
More framing. Hopefully will have upstairs bonus room and bath framed up tomorrow.
Now that's a good friend.
Very nice and very exciting. I build staircases for new homes and renovations if you need any help figuring any part of it out IM me.
Cheers Don.
WOW !!!! Excellent progress, congrats.
Starting to skin it.
I like the looks of that. Going to be one nice place to live.
One other important question. Did your plans include an additional bed room for visiting PBF members?
That place looks too nice to keep it all to yourself.
That being said, when we remodeled out 1960's era house, we took it from a 4 bedroom to a 2 bedroom............. no need to encourage adult children that might get into difficulties to move back in............... just saying.
Haha. There will be a bonus room and bath above the garage that we will finish later. You would have to fight my daughter's for it though.
I love seeing your pictures. We hope to start building our place within the year.
'74 that is looking nice, bet ya can't wait to be sitting on that porch. Is that faux brick panels?...it looks really good.
Your house is growing faster than Cecils YP !!! Bet yer as excited as can be.
Thanks guys. My family and I are very excited. I can't wait to be sitting on my front porch with the family. The brick is the real deal. They are tumbled to make it look like stone. We will be doing stone column with the white craftsman tapered post.
See you have cinder blocks on the perimeter too place the seals on but what did you use as foundation support through the middle?
The brick is the real deal. They are tumbled to make it look like stone.
Cool '74...the brick looks great We used some faux stone along
the bottom (see below) and it turned out nice...most can't tell
it's faux.
Looking GREAT, 1974cj5!!!
Mark, the place just looks amazinger and amazinger! Lovin it!
CJ if your fish turn out as fabulous as yer house, be expectin a visit from me. Have rod & reel, will travel.
Bob-O thanks. Well I'm glad we didn't stock the pond yet. We have had extreme drought and water levels are low. The house is coming along. Pretty much waiting on cabinets, granite and flooring. Here is a couple of pics.
Finally finished the fishing dock.
Sweet! Just dun take Granny out there with no railing!
Absolutely beautiful place.
Just yesterday we purchased a 1978 cj7. First jeep I ever owned. Hope to use it around our pond property. Looking for a couple of full hard doors. Your place is beautiful!! Keep up the good work.
Don't know your area but, in Texas, the water is too warm to stock fish in July.
Thanks. Flame I would love to have 78 cj7.
Here is a pic of my oldest daughter with her first LMB. It was about a 1 1/2 pounds. This is what it's all about. Love the smile on her face. She thought it was the best day ever.
Nice job on everything. We built our pond 1.5 years ago and just sold our old home and will be breaking ground on our new home at the pond. Exciting times for sure.
Bubba, ya sure named the place right. Looks ta me like ya got yer ducks in a row.(Pun intended)
