New fly rod snapped by Snapper :( - 08/30/14 04:08 PM
I'm so pissed, mainly at myself for allowing it to happen, but things were going so well this morning with cool temps, fish feeding well and catching BG on the fly rod. Then changed to a different (sinking) fly and hooked this Snapper.
Here's a 1 minute clip of the Snapper, giving a good chomp at about 48 seconds in the video

I was just trying to get it close enough to the dock but while trying to navigate the 9' rod and a 30-40 lb(+?) Snapper on the other end, the third section of the fly rod snapped.
So now it's a trip back to Cabela's in hopes they will replace the rod or at least the third section.
So much for a long weekend of fly fishing
