Looking into the not so far away future. I will be looking at a few properties I`ve kept my eyes on. Just looking for some feed back on my layout, excuse the rusty CAD skills.

Filled by a well? Or natural runoff?

Natural runoff might be difficult to get the lay of the land to fit the pond design.

Mostly well water. Memphis seems to either have nil or monsoons. May compact some of the spill way bottom to hold a little more water or period of time to add bait to it as well.

Not very attractive for a recreational ponds.

Why not make one big pond that is more aesthetically pleasing?

I agree Cecil, I may round them out kidney shaped. Going to target particular species in each pond that won't mix well with each other for set goals.

Kidney shape may waste more ground area, but recreation and aesthetics would benefit from more pleasing shape. Smaller ponds as in the design would allow more different fish combinations and easier to manage compared to one big pond. Think diversity, ease of management, practicality, and long term. Some day you may want to turn them into profitable production ponds either cash rent or your own facility.
